JOB DESCRIPTION – Front End Engineer is an industry leading AI company specializing in extracting insights from geospatial big data. Millions of geospatial images are captured every day by satellites, airplanes, and other vehicles - leverages AI to converts this flood of pixels into high definition (HD) vector maps and extract insight from HD maps to empower a wide range of decision makers at global scale.

We have built an AI system which significantly reduces the time and cost of creating HD vector maps at scale. To date, we have successfully deployed the AI system to map two continents in their entirety. Now, we are looking to go even bigger: mapping the whole world! We’re seeking passionate, talented engineers to join us at our Toronto office to help us fulfil our mission. You will be working alongside our engineering team to enhance our AI system for creating HD vector map at a global scale and build a map platform on top of the map content to support location based big data analysis. The position is permanent, full-time and will have a highly competitive salary, eligible for stock options, annual salary increases, and bonuses.


  • Working alongside the product team to develop new features to enhance the efficiency of our crowd based map annotation platform

  • Improve our map visualization system to render images and vector maps on web portal or mobile device

  • Develop tools or applications on top of our map content to support location based big data analysis at large scale


  • Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science or related fields

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Familiar with at least one backend language (nodejs / Python / PHP)

  • Ability to develop UIs that provide a consistent experience across all web browsers and operating systems

  • Familiar with at least one mainstream frontend framework  (Vue / AngularJS / React, etc) and data-driven programming

  • Knowledge of build systems (Webpack / Grunt / Gulp)

  • Experience with developing web/mobile based map application is a plus
